WineTalent is working with our client Long Meadow Ranch on an exciting opportunity to join the Hospitality Team in a management position as Hospitality Manager - Stony Hill.
Long Meadow Ranch is a family­-owned and operated producer and purveyor of world­-class wine and food that is economically successful and socially responsible using diversified, sustainable, and organic farming methods. We produce award­-winning wines, handcrafted extra virgin olive oils, grass­-fed beef, eggs, and heirloom fruits and vegetables.
We are seeking a Hospitality Manager to oversee the hospitality experiences at our Stony Hill property. The Hospitality Manager will be primarily responsible for managing the hospitality team at Stony Hill ensuring an unforgettable experience to our guests and promoting our wines and wine club. The ideal candidate will be engaging and knowledgeable about Stony Hill, Long Meadow Ranch, wine, food and also the Napa Valley. Interacting with guests from diverse backgrounds and experiences, the Hospitality Manager will strive to create a unique and personal experience with each guest.
Responsibilities
  • Perform daily operations, including tasting setup and breakdown, reservations, order processing, and inventory management
  • Host guests on guided winery visits and tastings that are unique and memorable
  • Deliver a customer experience that provides world-class customer service and tells our winery history, mission and philosophy.
  • Create opportunities to present and sell wine and acquire club memberships
  • Assist with the hiring, training, and scheduling of hourly hospitality staff
  • Ensure proper execution of daily procedures, including tasting protocol, point of sale operations, maintaining proper inventory control, signing up wine club members, opening and closing, and daily upkeep and maintenance of the tasting areas
  • Lead daily staff meetings
  • Assist in the coordination of all on-site events
  • Handle routine purchasing transactions including point of sale/cash register operations and accounting for daily sales and tips. Ensure that all Hospitality accounting is correct and complete at the end of the business day
  • Collaborate with the Director of Consumer Sales & Hospitality to achieve goals for sales, wine club sign ups and data collection goals; plan properly and motivate the team to reach these goals.
  • Demonstrate leadership and personal support to hourly staff. Help coach, guide and develop staff into a strong sales and service focused team. Provide clear direction and support to staff regarding sales initiatives and programs.
  • Work collaboratively and effectively with other team members at the winery as well as other departments, such as Consumer Sales, Marketing and Private Events.
  • Collaborate with theDirector of Consumer Sales & Hospitality to generate and execute ideas to build tasting room traffic.
  • Collaborate with theDirector of Consumer Sales & Hospitality to develop compelling and unique visitor programs and experience.
  • Submit all reports to accounting and management as required, including daily sales, monthly inventory, and monthly performance analysis.
Education, Experience and Required Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Hospitality or related experience
  • 2+ year of hospitality experience with strong proven experience in direct-to-consumer wine sales
  • Knowledge of organic and sustainable farming and food production
  • Strong interest in the farm-to-table movement and culinary pursuits
  • Effective communication and sales skills
  • Must be able to work Saturday and Sunday
  • Customer service experience with a genuine desire to provide exceptional service
  • Proven experience in direct-to-consumer wine sales
  • A valid California Driver’s License with a safe driving record
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • A pre-employment background is required

  • This is a full-time hourly position.

WineTalent is working with our client Long Meadow Ranch to find tasting room staff for the General Store tasting room located at Farmstead Restaurant in St. Helena.  

Farmstead at Long Meadow Ranch is the destination for food & wine in St. Helena. Farmstead has has a unique opportunity for a proven sales professional to join the General Store team. We are looking for an energetic and enthusiatic person to promote the sales of wine and non-wine merchandise, provide exceptional customer service, create a unique experience for each guest and build LMR brand loyalty.

Duties Include:

Provide the first line of information to the customer by greeting, directing and answering questions regarding our wines, merchandise, history and facilities.
Host retail wine tastings that convey LMR brand image and lead to sales transactions and brand loyalty.
Provide wine service for our Farm-to-Table lunches and dinners, small and large groups.
Handle retail sales of specialty merchandise, food items, olive oil and wine.
Offer wine club program and encourage sign-ups in a captivating manner as to increase sales and build customer loyalty.
Complete transactions accurately on point of sales system, including shipping orders, wine club and cash transactions.
Build, enhance and maintain long-term customer relationships.
Stock, price and display merchandise.

Qualifications Include:

Two years of sales experience in a tasting room, restaurant or retail sales environment
Ability to effectively communicate in a welcoming and professional manner.
Ability to build/maintain a relationship with customers in a short period of time
Ability to offer product for purchase and maximize sale with other options for purchase.
Ability to learn and execute point of sale computer software procedures.
Ability to learn about wines, varietals and winemaking process.
Ability to work independently and with a team.
Ability to work in fast paced environment.
Ability to lift up to 50lbs and stand for long periods of time.
Ability to work weekends and holidays, flexibility in schedule is desired.
Hourly wage plus commission and wine club incentive

LMR produces award­-winning wines, hand-crafted extra virgin olive oils, grass-­fed beef and lamb, eggs, and heirloom fruits and vegetables.

LMR has farming operations in Northern California on more than 2500 acres in Napa, Marin, Mendocino, and Humboldt counties, including three winegrowing estates in the Mayacamas Mountains, Rutherford, and Anderson Valley.  Long Meadow Ranch also operates a sustainable food, wine, and agricultural education destination located in St. Helena, CA, which is anchored by the distinctive farm-to-table restaurant, Farmstead at Long Meadow Ranch. New projects  are being developed on multiple LMR-owned properties, including winery production facilities, agricultural improvements (major vineyard re-plantings, water systems, livestock handling facilities, etc.), and guest lodging

LMR has an exciting opportunity for a Director of Finance to contribute to the overall success of LMR by effectively managing the financial affairs of one of its key entities, LMR Wine Estates LLC.   The Director of Finance will be a member of  the executive team. The Director of Finance will be responsible for all financial reporting for LMR Wine Estates and will also be accountable for analyzing the current business and planning for future business needs..  The Director of Finance will provide high quality financial planning and analysis, including providing detailed financial modeling for established and potential projects.  

The Director of Finance will lead the development and maintenance of control and management information reporting systems. This position requires excellent verbal communication skills, strong interpersonal relationship skills and a commitment to integrity.   

Responsibilities:

Financial accounting and reporting

   Develop and maintain timely and accurate financial statements and reports that are appropriate for the users and in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
   Develop, implement, and ensure compliance with internal financial and accounting policies and procedures
   Document and maintain complete and accurate supporting information for all financial transactions
   Develop and maintain financial accounting systems for cash management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit control, and petty cash
   Review monthly results and implement monthly variance reporting
   Prepare and maintain monthly, quarterly and annual cash flow forecasts
   Oversee the accounting manager including maintenance of the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll

Payroll preparation and administration
   Oversee all payroll functions to ensure that employees are paid in a timely and accurate manner

Budget preparation
   Establish guidelines for budget and forecast preparation and prepare the annual budget
   Assist the executive team with the preparation of budgets
   Drive development and maintenance of a three-year forward-looking financial plan.

Cash flow
   Develop and maintain 24-month rolling forecasts of cash flow
   Manage line of credit and tactical relationship with banks

Project management accounting
   Maintain financial records for each project in a manner that facilitates timely management reporting
   Ensure that accurate and timely financial statements are prepared in accordance with agreements with lenders and investors
   Provide accurate and timely reporting on the status of individual projects

 Financial Administration
   Oversee the management of all leases, contracts and other financial commitments
   Monitor all legislation relevant to the organization (employment policies,, occupation health and safety, etc)

Qualifications and Requirements:
   Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Business
   Certified Public Accountants preferred
   Distinctive finance and accounting experience of 5 years or more within diversified agricultural organizations
   Proven understanding of finance and accounting issues related to agricultural production (cash basis), winery and restaurant businesses highly desirable
   Extensive experience with Quickbooks required  
   Experience using Targit Decision Suite sales analytics software highly desirable  
   Prior experience implementing new accounting software systems and/or ERP required

WineTalent is working with our client, Long Meadow Ranch, to find a Sales Representative to represent the company's wine brands in the greater New York area.  Long Meadow Ranch (LMR) is a family-­owned and -operated producer and purveyor of world­-class wine and food that is economically successful and socially responsible and that employs diversified, sustainable, and organic farming methods. LMR produces award­-winning wines, hand-crafted extra virgin olive oils, grass-­fed beef and lamb, eggs, and heirloom fruits and vegetables.

LMR has an exciting opportunity for a Sales position to represent LMR wine brands in the greater metropolitan New York area.  Reporting to the Eastern Sales Manager, the person will be working in conjunction with the company's distributor partners in the New York market, with additional sales support responsibilities in NJ, New England, PA, MD and DC.  This role will work with LMR's distributors’ sales teams to sell, establish and maintain relationships with on and off premise accounts in these markets.  Additionally this role works collaboratively with the entire LMR sales team on national and chain account development and maintenance.  

Responsibilities:  
  • Work closely with Regional Sales Manager to understand pricing, programming and incentive plans.
  • Represent and sell LMR wines in the region through account calls.
  • Work with  on and off premise accounts to develop relationships and foster the sales growth of the LMR brands in the market.
  • Manage special sales projects including winemaker/owner dinners, VIP tastings and industry events.
  • In conjunction with the National Sales Manager, the Eastern Sales Manager and the LMR executive team, support the development of a sales plan and support  meetings with key distributor management members to further establish and maintain the relationship between LMR and the distributor network.
  • Track shipments and depletion reports.  Work to eliminate any discrepancies.
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • At least 4 years of wine sales experience in the NY and or NJ market for either a supplier or a distributor.
  • The candidate must have a track record of success with distributors and/or brokers in the region.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Additional wine education highly desirable.
  • High proficiency in office productivity tools including Google Drive, Google Docs and email.  Understanding of Targit software a plus.  
  • Valid Driver’s license and clean driving record required.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
