WineTalent is working with our client, Long Meadow Ranch, to find a Southwest Sales Manager to sell and represent LMR wine brands. The territory includes Southern California, Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico, Utah, and Hawaii.


About the company:  Long Meadow Ranch is a family-owned agricultural enterprise producing grapes and wine, olives and olive oil, grass-fed beef and lamb, fruits, vegetables, and eggs in the Napa Valley, Anderson Valley and Marin County. The Long Meadow Ranch operations also include an acclaimed farm-to-table restaurant, a general store and wine tasting bar in the historic Logan-Ives House, an outdoor cafe, a farmer's market, a working garden and a variety of unique event spaces all located at Farmstead at Long Meadow Ranch.

About the Position:  Reporting to the Vice President Sales, the Southwest Sales Manager will work in conjunction with our distributor partners in the territory. This role will work independently as well as with our distributors’ sales teams to sell, establish and maintain relationships with on and off premise accounts in these markets. Additionally this role works collaboratively with the entire LMR sales team on national and chain account development and maintenance.

About the Job Responsibilities:·      
  • Work closely with VP Sales to develop budgets, programs and marketing strategies
  •  Identify key accounts and make direct sales calls
  • Collaborate on California distributor management with Northwest Sales Manager
  • Focus on top primary markets with frequent visits
  • Develop strong relationships with respective distributor’s sales representatives
  • Manage and monitor all sales and inventory with the designated wholesalers
  • Develop and perform presentations of wines to the respective distributors sales teams and managers
  • Direct and assist with the placements and image of products
  • Manage updates on pricing, programs and market goals with distributors
  • Manage special sales projects including winemaker/owner dinners, VIP tastings and industry events
  • Work closely with the VP Sales and the LMR executive team, support the development of a sales plan and support meetings with key distributor management members to further establish and maintain the relationship between LMR and the distributor network
  • Utilize the VIP and Karma mobile application sales systems to track account calls, sales depletions and sales progress
  • Provide continuous communication on territory performance
  • Maintain a mutually respectful relationship with sales team members and other LMR team members
About the Requirements:
  • At least 2 years of work experience in the territory within wine sales, restaurants or food and beverage
  • Wine sales experience for either a supplier or a distributor is highly desirable
  • Bachelor’s degree desirable, relevant work experience in lieu of a degree will also be considered
  • Additional wine education, highly desirable
  • High proficiency in office productivity tools including Google Drive, Google Docs and email
  • Understanding of sales management reporting software a plus
  • Preferably based in the Los Angeles area 
  • Valid California Driver’s license and clean driving record required  
  • Ability to lift 40+ pounds
  • A pre-employment background check

WineTalent is working with our confidential client on a sales role in the Southern California territory.  The Sales Representative will actively represent the winery in the Southern California market. This position will be responsible for managing relationships with the distributor sales team, key accounts, and wine buyers in the area.  The winery is a boutique, luxury wine project featuring a talented winemaking team and excellent estate fruit. 

Responsibilities:
·     Manage the Southern California market through new account prospecting, key account development, existing account relationship management and fostering a strong partnership with the distributor. 
·      Actively network with key decision makers to increase new sales opportunities and build on past sales successes. 
·      Working with the company’s management and sales team, set up sales goals and account lists.
·      Working independently, manage daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly sales activities to create a strong presence of the wines in the market.
·      Actively sell to on-premise and off-premise accounts both in partnership with wholesale team and through self-initiated sales calls.
·      Identify and manage relationships with high volume and/or high potential accounts.
·      Foster relationships with luxury dining, lodging and hospitality venues.  This includes private club and resort accounts.
·      Represent the winery at select trade and consumer events. 



Qualifications and Requirements:
·      Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business or closely related field.  Work experience in lieu of a degree will also be considered
·      At least 3 years of fine wine sales in the Southern California market.
·      Proven experience selling luxury wine brands to both on-premise and off-premise accounts. 
·      Past work experience in a distributor sales role highly desirable.
·      Established relationships with buyers in private venues such as country clubs, yacht clubs, etc.
·      Experience with Bordeaux varietals and blends.  Excellent tasting palate with an appreciate of Bordeaux blends and Cabernet Sauvignon.
·      Ability to take ownership of sales responsibilities in the market.

WineTalent Classifieds: Western Regional Sales Manager

WineTalent is working with our confidential winery client on a Regional Sales Manager to represent the winery on the West Coast. The Western Regional Sales Manager will be representing the winery in conjunction with a marketing company to manage distributor partners. This role will also be working directly with customers. The position will be managing the broad market in CA, AZ, NV, WA, OR, ID, MT, UT, WY, AK and HI.

Responsibilities:
  • The Western Regional Sales Manager will be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships in the western states with the marketing partner and within the current distributor network.
  • Work closely with the marketing partner on pricing, programming and incentive plans.
  • Represent the winery in the region through market visits, travelling on average 3 weeks per month.
  • Enhances the winery’s brand image by developing and executing market promotions.
  • Work with key on and off premise accounts to develop relationships and foster the growth of the brand in the market place. Call on key accounts to develop new sales opportunities and expand distribution.
  • Manage special sales projects including winemaker/owner dinners, VIP tastings and industry events.
  • Ensure distribution goals of the company are met or exceeded to meet the business objectives of the company.
  • Maintain a regular schedule of account calls on national & regional account customers.
  • Regularly meet with marketing company and distributors to ensure execution of marketing strategies and to achieve performance objectives.
  • Maintain pricing throughout the Western region to deliver desired wine list, BTG and retail price point targets and profitability.
  • Maintain great communication flow between the different stakeholders
  • Track shipments and depletion reports. Work to eliminate any discrepancies.
  • Monitor & communicate lack of inventory to marketing partner and distributor
  • Review and monitor depletion and account sold data by market by SKU on a weekly/monthly/quarterly and annual basis
  • Weekly reports to superior

Qualifications and Requirements
  • Experience representing a winery brand in the market.
  • Have established relationships with the sales marketing team, distributors and/or brokers in the market.
  • At least 5 years of wine sales experience in the market for either a supplier or a distributor.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, Communications or related required.
  • WSET or additional wine education highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and related productivity packages.

WineTalent is working with our confidential winery client on a California Sales Manager role. The winery is a boutique, family-owned winery based in the Sierra Foothills with a growing brand and identity. The winery currently has two brands and is selling wine in California. With a flexible production plan, excellent fruit sources and access to premium bulk wine, the winery is looking to increase the presence of the brands in the market and increase production as sales warrant. The California Sales Manager will be working with current buyers while establishing a relationship with a distributor partner to sell the wines throughout California and into other states as production increases. This is an excellent opportunity for someone to make their mark as a California Sales Manager and to be responsible for the growth of the winery. 

Job Description: We are searching for a top sales professional to manage the sales of the wine brands in the California market. The Sales Manager will be responsible for managing the current direct-to-trade sales channels while developing the wholesale program to partner with a strategic distributor. This person will be tasked with first focusing the sales effort in the local metropolitan markets and then will expand the territory to encompass the state of California. The Sales Manager will be focusing on off-premise accounts with specialty retailers as well as managing chain sales in the state. Once the off-premise sales are established, the Sales Manager will be working to also build on-premise sales in the state. The Sales Manager will be responsible for establishing and managing the brands’ pricing and programming with the distributor.  

Responsibilities: The California Sales Manager is responsible for managing the current direct distribution model while developing a partnership with a distributor in California. This person will also be responsible for managing the market through routine market visits and the development of new accounts. Going forward, the Sales Manager will be working in conjunction with the distributor to build brand awareness and build new accounts in the major metropolitan markets of California and other key states. The Sales Manager will be responsible for tracking account progress and depletions. Additionally the Sales Manager will be managing the distributor’s performance monthly, quarterly and yearly.

Qualifications:  
•  A minimum of 5 years of wine sales experience, preferably with experience in brand building. 
•  Currently have relationships with the brokers, off-premise, on-premise and chain accounts in the market to provide adequate support of current and future customers.  
•  Strong chain sales experience desirable. 
•  Familiarity with sales in a large territory within California. 
•  Experience with pricing, programming and distributor management.
•  Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Enology, or related. Relevant work experience in lieu of a degree will also be considered.
•  Must be able to effectively manage work schedule to meet needs of customers, distributors and management.
•  Self-motivated, professional and strategically focused on building sales.

LMR produces award-winning wines, hand-crafted extra virgin olive oils, grass-fed beef and lamb, eggs, and heirloom fruits and vegetables.

LMR has an exciting opportunity for a Salesperson to represent LMR wine brands in the greater metropolitan Los Angeles area. Reporting to the Western Sales Manager, the person will be working in conjunction with our distributor partners in the Southern California market, with additional sales support responsibilities in Las Vegas, NV and Phoenix, AZ as needed. This role will work independently as well as with our distributors’ sales teams to sell, establish and maintain relationships with on and off premise accounts in these markets. Additionally this role works collaboratively with the entire LMR sales team on national and chain account development and maintenance.  

Responsibilities:  
Work closely with Regional Sales Manager to understand pricing, programming and incentive plans.
